The China Fund, Inc. Reconvenes Annual Meeting of Stockholders
BOSTON, Massachusetts

The China Fund, Inc. (NYSE: CHN), reconvened its Annual Meeting of Stockholders on April 13, 2007. At the Meeting, stockholders approved a Direct Investment Management Agreement between the Fund and Martin Currie Inc. Martin Currie is currently the Fund's listed investment manager and, under the Direct Investment Management Agreement, will also be responsible for investing the Fund's assets in direct (private) investments.

The Fund is a closed-end management investment company seeking long-term capital appreciation primarily through investment in the equity securities of companies engaged in a substantial amount of business in the People's Republic of China.
